What is Reflexology?

Some call it a art, others call it a science and most call it both.   Reflexology uses the areas on the feet and hands which correspond to the glands, organs and other parts of the body.   Basically on your hands and feet is a map that once understood can help heal and adjust the entire body.   From aches and pains to constipation to headaches to pulled muschles, foot reflexology has been constantly improving lives since the time of the ancient Egyptians.   Doctors are now suggesting reflexology to cancer patients and patients who are stressed.   The reason they are now using reflexology to assist is due to recent studies showing that over 75% of the average persons health issues are linked to stress and tension.

How does reflexology work?

The underlying theory behind reflexology is that there are "reflex" areas on the feet and hands that correspond to specific organs, glands, and other parts of the body. For example:

the tips of the toes reflect the head

the heart and chest are around the ball of the foot

the liver, pancreas and kidney are in the arch of the foot

low back and intestines are towards the heel

Certain areas on the feet and hands were linked to other areas and organs of the body.

Applying pressure to these reflex areas can promote health in the corresponding organs through energetic pathways.

A scientific explanation is that the pressure may send signals that balance the nervous system or release chemicals such as endorphins that reduce pain and stress.

Reflexology removes energy blockages and has been shown to provide natural, effective help with a variety of health issues  such us:

Back pain and muscle stiffnes

Migraines and headaches

Sleep disorders

Hormone imbalances

Digestive problems

Infertility

Depression.
